Lunch N’ Learn- HIPAA Requirements & Industry Best Practices

The Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA) provides data privacy and security provisions for safeguarding sensitive medical information. As employer benefit plan sponsors, you are likely subject to the HIPAA rules and requirements. HIPAA requires organizations to provide training for employees who come into contact with protected health information. Many of those that have access to protected health information include Human Resources and Executive Management professionals. HIPAA allows penalties up to 1.5 million depending on the provision that was violated. If employees were not provided with adequate training, this could cause a greater risk of litigation.

As best practice, it is suggested that HIPAA Training be conducted annually to ensure employees are cognizant of changing legislation and the importance of safeguarding your employees’ data. In an effort to mitigate HIPAA breaches and to provide your employees with the proper HIPAA Awareness Training, please join us for this Lunch N’ Learn where we will discuss HIPAA requirements and industry best practices for how to manage protected health information on a daily basis.

This seminar is geared toward employers with 100+ full time employees. Attendees will receive a HIPAA Awareness Training certificate at the completion of the training. In addition to the HIPAA certificate, this workshop is approved for 2 hours of CE credits for HRCI, SHRM and CPE designations.
