The 32nd Annual PEBA Forum took place last Thursday April 24th at the Hilton on City Line Avenue in Philadelphia. Innovative was proud to be an Exhibitor at this event and arrived ready to encourage attendees to take a chance at our mini golf game in order to win a sleeve of golf balls! Our focus for this event was Benchmarking, for both medical and retirement plans. A benchmark allows you to “take a peek” at how you compare to competitors in your industry, region, state and nationally. Our blindfold shaped cookies, signifying not being blind to how your plans compare, were a big hit with the attendees!
After lunch, our own Ryan Kastner conducted a breakout session that advised attendees on how best to manage benefit costs in light of Health Care Reform. A review of Play or Pay was followed by the introduction of Health Plan Benchmarking, which Innovative conducts through the United Benefit Advisors (UBA) National Health Plan Benchmarking Survey, the largest of its kind. Results from this survey allow participants to see the cost effect of PPACA regulations to date, as well as projections for 2014 and beyond. When trying to manage costs, it is imperative to have this information and to understand the options that are available to best minimize the potential financial burden. Ryan discussed several strategies that our clients are using to minimize the impact of the new regulations and guided attendees on steps that they can take now to protect themselves. Great job Ryan!
