Yesenia Perez, JD, LLM is pioneering the role of Compliance Counsel at Innovative Benefit Planning. Facing constant challenges of the ever-changing insurance industry and the impact the Affordable Care Act has had on employers nationwide, we knew we needed more compliance support for our clients. Yesenia has been an integral part of our team’s success, navigating complex regulations and acting as a resource for our team and our clients. Innovative clients can expect to receive periodic communications from Yesenia pertaining to important compliance updates.
At Innovative, Yesenia is responsible for overseeing all compliance related requirements for our clients by providing up to date research and interpretation to resolve regulatory compliance issues. These compliance services assist client human resource professionals in meeting their ongoing administrative, reporting, and disclosure requirements. Yesenia also serves as Chief Compliance Officer for Innovative Investment Fiduciaries, L.L.C. Yesenia is responsible for instilling a culture of compliance and integrity to protect client plan sponsors and plan participants from potential compliance violations.
About Yesenia
Yesenia brings several years of experience in health law compliance. Yesenia worked for the New Jersey Division of Law-Health and Human Services, the American Medical Association, a civil litigation firm, and a prominent health law firm in Chicago, Illinois. Yesenia received her law degree and Master of Laws in Health Law from DePaul University, College of Law. Yesenia is licensed to practice law in New Jersey and New York.
Within the community, Yesenia is heavily involved in the Associate Alumnae of Douglass College (AADC), where she serves as her Class President and Secretary of the Young Alumnae Network. Yesenia has spearheaded a Sisterhood Book Club, is an AADC Mentor to younger alumnae, and is involved with the annual Workplace & Professional Development Symposium. Yesenia has been chosen to speak at various AADC events, including as Keynote Speaker for the organization’s Founder’s Day celebration. Yesenia is also a member of the United Benefit Advisors Legal and Compliance Committee, American Bar Association, and New Jersey Bar Association.
