On Thursday, January 8th, Innovative’s Matthew Bernstein, Retirement Plan Consultant, and Mark Sulpizio, Managing Partner, were asked to speak at the Greater Princeton Human Resources Association’s (GPHRA) monthly meeting in Princeton, New Jersey.
The presentation discussed the Pension Protection Act’s plan restatement requirement due April 30th 2016 which requires most employers to update their plan documents. The presentation explained how plan sponsors can use the restatement as an opportunity to review their plan designs in order to provide greater benefits to their organization and employees. The presentation also focused on the impact of the Department of Labor’s 408(b)(2) fee disclosure regulations and recommended actions for compliance with the new rules. Other topics discussed included fee benchmarking, RFP management, and fee negotiation.
